What type of Base Material should I use for my basket?
Back to Top What does "Natural Finish" mean on my baskets? All wire baskets shown here (Carbon steel, 304 and 316 Stainless Steel) are shipped in a "Natural Finish", which is the natural condition of the base material. The baskets are generally clean to the touch, but may have a slight brown discoloration around welds and may have very light process oils remaining on the surface. Back to Top What Size Basket should I order? All baskets are listed are made to "Outside Dimensions" which is the outside size of the frame around the mesh lined area (See sketches). The "Inside Dimensions" of the baskets (length and width or diameter) will be approximately 1/2" to 3/4" less than the corresponding outside dimensions. Back to Top What is the weight capacity of my baskets? The baskets shown here have a general capacity of 65 lbs. of evenly loaded parts in typical dipping, lifting, sorting, and storage applications. This capacity will be reduced by parts with sharp corners that cut through the mess, excessive impact loading (dropping parts into baskets, or jerking or banging the loaded baskets), and/or any corrosion of materials. While baskets can be used for stacking, never use them for overhead lifting or to carry people. Back to Top How are my baskets made? All baskets shown here will have a round rod frame and handles (either 1/4" diameter or 5/16" diameter rod, depending on basket size) which are formed on a computer controled bending machines. The frame parts are TIG welded together and the mesh lining is resistance welded into the frame. The entire basket is then completely deburred to remove any sharp edges and to blend the edges. All custom baskets ordered through our website are made specifically to your exact specifications (size, mesh, material, handle, etc.) and are not returnable except for manufacturing defects. Your online order will be acknowledged on the first business day after your order is placed. Your order will usually ship within 2 weeks of your order acknowledgement. Your actual Ship date may vary based on our order backlog and your Delivery Date will vary based on transit time from York, PA. Back to Top How will my order be shipped? All orders are packaged securely in appropriate cardboard cartons and shipped from York, PA by UPS Ground. Please call if you require expedited shipping or an alternate carrier. Shipping Charges will be calculated when your order is complete, based on your order's total weight, your location, and the shipping method (UPS Ground unless requested otherwise).
